A recent study published in the New England Journal of Medicine has shown that drinking water or low-sugar, low-calorie drinks instead of sugary, high-calorie drinks can decrease weight gain in children. CBS news has posted an excellent summary of the report .

There are many things that can contribute to being overweight or obese. Removing or minimizing soda consumption and presence can help decrease weight gain. A favorite technique in Jasmine’s house is to squeeze citrus (orange, lemon, or lime) into a pitcher of water and keep it in the refrigerator.
